IGGY Essentials
IGGY Essentials is a project in which we contact animal shelters and rescue groups across the country who have Italian Greyhounds in their care and offer our support. We mail out a free martingale or limited slip collar and have an informative IG Handbook written by a rescue friend right here on our website. Feel free to print it and distribute as you see fit.
Every breed has its idiosyncracies and specific needs. Italian Greyhounds are no exception and sometimes pose more of a challenge to new owners than other breeds.
By sharing information about Italian Greyhounds and their "quirks", we hope to reduce the number of homeless IGs entering or re-entering rescue.
By providing safe collars our hope is to reduce the number of Italian Greyhounds that are lost due to slipping out of conventional dog collars.
Please feel free to contact us if you have any specific questions pertaining to Italian Greyhounds. We don't always have the answer, but we are devoted to this breed and will help anyway that we can.

Martingales are perfect for Italian Greyhounds and other breeds whose necks are larger than their heads. They slip over the dog's head and will gently tighten if the dog tries to escape the collar. These are the ONLY type of collars we recommend and use for walking and are the safest for all sighthounds.
